Get Off The Grid With Renewable Energy
There are generally two reasons people look to alternative renewable energy solutions. The first is because our social conscience demands we do our little bit to help ease the global energy crisis. The second is because it has the potential to emancipate ourselves from increasing costs of living. Both reasons are good ones, but let’s take a look at the benefits to ‘get off the grid’ in more detail.
A reduced dependability on government provided resources would be high on the list. A majority of people remain dependant on public utilities, and are stuck with the cost associated with it, and the inconvenience when those services fail. There’s a certain appeal to being able to take charge of our own sustainability. With alternate power resources, we can.
With responsibility comes rights, and another clear benefit of harnessing naturally available resources is the ability to use them whenever and for as long as we like. Imagine being able to use an abundance of power without worrying about the cost or consequence of being a burden on the planet. Solar power and wind power solutions offer that opportunity.
The most obvious personal benefit is the savings associated with no longer relying on the electric and gas company for our energy. Most of us groan at the thought of opening our monthly or quarterly power bill. Gone are the days where these essential services were affordable. Prior to discovering alterative power, the gas and electricity accounted for our major household outgoings. Being clear of those crushing bills can mean significant savings.
The energy crisis won’t be avoided by our conservation efforts alone…but it will be assisted by the collective taking on the idea that if we each pull our weight, a lasting difference can be made.
Living off the grid is both feasible, and cost effective, and allows us the chance to do our part.
